NSDC Launches Women Entrepreneurship Program, Encourages Inclusive Environment. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Britannia Industries Ltd are empowering up to 25 lakh across the country women with entrepreneurship programs to start and grow businessess.

This initiative also offers financial grants, highlights the Skill India Digital Hub, and reflects a strong commitment to an inclusive environment for women entrepreneurs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision

Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, highlighted the importance of close collaboration with other organizations and government departments for women’s self-help groups’ skill training.

He highlighted that 82 percent of trainees under the Jan Shikshan Sansthan are women. Tiwari said about 45 percent of the participants in the PMKVY short-term training program are women.

Ved Mani Tiwari, Officiating CEO of NSDC & MD, NSDC International, said the program aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for women’s development. He pointed out that private and public sector organizations are encouraging women toward entrepreneurship. 

Rajneet Singh Kohli, CEO and Executive Director of Britannia Industries, said they aim to help women entrepreneurs achieve their dreams to do more. He believes the partnership with NSDC is a game-changer for women’s empowerment in India.

The latest initiative between the NSDC and Britannia Industries Ltd will look into challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. It will empower women with special skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities. The Women Entrepreneurship Program comes with complimentary self-learning basic entrepreneurship courses which are available in multiple languages on the Skill India Digital Hub.

Upon completion of the courses, participants will be awarded a certificate highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and competencies. At the end of the program, the top 50 participants will present their business ideas, wherein only 10 will be awarded financial grants of Rs 10 lakh.
