India Deployed Two Rafale Fighter Jets For Sheikh Hasina’s Security: Bangladesh Unrest. India prioritized former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s security after she resigned from the top position yesterday on the order of the country’s army chief. As news came in that she was flying to Indi., New Delhi swiftly ensured her safety by deploying two Rafale fighter jets from the Hashimara air base in West Bengal.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and General Upendra Dwivedi, as well as chiefs of the Indian Army and Air Force, tracked a low-flying aircraft from Bangladesh approaching the Indian border. It was escorted with due diligence with constant communication between Indian officials and the Bangladeshi aircraft.

The C-130 transport aircraft with its high-profile occupant landed at 5:45 p.m. at the Hindan air base.

Indian Intelligence Blames China & Pakistan for Bangladesh Unrest

India’s intelligence believes China and Pakistan’s ISI are behind the ongoing unrest and protests in neighboring Bangladesh. Reports claim the student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) of hardline Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh escalated the protests.

The group is said to have turned the protests over quota into demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, and her ousting. A source said that Jamaat-e-Islami, backed by Pakistan financially through ISI and Chinese entities, led to the downfall of Hasina’s government.

Bangladesh Wants New Government

However, there was a massive wave of dissent in Bangladesh. Hundreds of thousands of students came out on the roads demanding Hasina to step down for the election of a new government, and for their grievances to be addressed. They expressed discontent over government job quotas, police brutality and the government’s failure to hear them.

The protesters blamed the Bangladeshi government for the violent crackdown, which resulted in the death of more than 200 people. There was frustration over the Hasina government’s lack of accountability and oppression.
