Ukraine Invades Russia’s Kursk Region, Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Shelled. The Russia-Ukraine war took a twist after the Ukrainian army invaded the Kursk region and attacked the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Rosatom, a Russian nuclear corporation, described the attack as an act of nuclear terrorism. It rebuked the Ukrainian regime for systematically trying to attack the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and Energodar.
An official statement by Rosatom said the strike targeted NPP’s equipment. Zaporizhzhia is Europe’s largest nuclear power plant and has a capacity of about 6GW.
Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Shelled
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the Ukrainian forces pushed the war into Russia’s territory. He said Ukraine knows how to restore justice and is putting pressure on the aggressor. About the nuclear plant, Zelensky said as long as the Russians control Zaporizhzhia, the situation cannot get normal.
Russia is trying to keep the Ukrainian forces off – destroyed 14 drones and Tochka-U tactical ballistic missiles. The Kremlin highlighted that about 13 people were injured in a Ukrainian drone and missile attack in Kursk.

Ukraine Gains And Russia’s Loss
Ukraine’s latest gains come after the United States empowered Kyiv with $125 million in weapons. This included air-defense capabilities, radars, and anti-tank weapons. The Joe Biden administration has given Ukraine the green light for the use of the Russian war – cross-border counterstrikes against Russia, but not against targets or civilians deep inside Russia.
Ukraine is working towards easing Russian military presence in the south and east of the country. The latest Ukrainian strike will help Ukraine regain its military initiative after a year of little to no progress. 2024 saw the Russia-Ukraine war at a standstill, with not much gains by either side. But time and again Ukraine has had its forces boosted with arms from the US and Europe.
And now, Russia has been jolted by Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk.
