Rishab Shetty Bags Best Actor, Gulmohar Best Hindi Film: 70th National Film Awards. Every year the government-appointed national panel goes through hundreds of films to zero on the winning submission in various categories for the 70th National Film Awards. The jury was made up of the Chairperson of the Feature Film Jury Rahul Rawail the Chairperson of the Non-Feature Film Jury Nila Madhab Panda, and Chairperson of the Best Writing on Cinema Jury Gangadhar Mudalair.

Last year, Bollywood actresses Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt emerged as the best actresses with Allu Arjun by their side as the best actor. This time around, regional films scooped up most of the awards with the Kannada film Kantara hero Rishab Shetty winning best actor, and Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh, winning best actress award.
