Will Diljit Dosanjh ‘Dil-Luminati Tour’ Be India’s Taylor Swift Eras Tour?

Date:

Diljit Dosanjh is set to kick off a massive concert through his highly anticipated ‘Dil-Luminati Tour’ that will be staged in 10 cities across India. This comes after the Indian singer-actors sold-out shows in North America, Australia, and New Zealand.

Dosanjh is now lauded as present-day India’s worldwide music phenomenon. He announced the concert on Instagram, saying “DIL-LUMINATI INDIA TOUR Year 24?????” If Dosanjh plays his cards right, he may become India’s own Taylor Swift. In the last two years, the American singer has won hearts in the US and around the world with her Era Tour and continues to do so drawing crowds of hundreds of thousands of people to every concert.

Dosanjh can pull out a page or two from Swift’s concert book and see how she became an overnight sensation. And he is so talented, having acted in Bollywood films, and sung out one hit Punjabi song after another.

Dosanjh is raved about in the US and Canada as fans wore LED wristbands and chanted his name. He is popular for the viral hit song G.O.A.T wherein Bhangra dancers join him on the stage for an electrifying performance.

Diljit Dosanjh Concert Indian Economy

The Amar Singh Chamika actor was praised by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for a sold-out show in the American state. Murphy said the people of New Jersey love Punjabi culture and Dosanjh’s songs and dance.

The multi-talented artist also had packed shows in Canada, most notably at Rogers Center in Toronto which grossed over $27 million in ticket sales.

If he can pull off this kind of concert across India, the country will get a much-needed economic boost. Youngsters and adults alike will get to experience a live-in-concert in the post-pandemic world. India needs to monetize its musical and cultural industry like the US is doing through Taylor Swift.

Furthermore, the Dosanjh India tour might inspire fellow popular artists like Mohit Chauhan, Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghosal, and Sunidhi Chauhan, among others to set off similar concerts.
