US Vice President Kamala Harris worked at McDonald’s in California while she was pursuing her undergraduate degree at Howard University. And that was in the summer of 1983. She told MSNBC that it was no small job as she ‘did the fries’.
However, former US President Donald Trump has accused Harris of lying about her short gig at McDonald’s. But Harris has brushed this allegation aside, saying she indeed worked at a McDonald’s in Oakland, California.
The Democrat presidential candidate said Trump and her have differences in their perspective on the needs of the American people.
Harris explained that she is now highlighting her job at the fast-food chain when she was a student because there are people who are trying to raise a family. She acknowledged that many working at McDonald’s have families to raise and households to run.

Kamala Harris On The American Dream
Harris shared on the microblogging platform X (formerly X) that she grew up as a middle-class kid. She was raised by a hardworking mother who like hundreds of thousands of families across the United States, had big dreams and aspirations for her children. Harris, 59, said it will be her top priority to bring down the costs of working families.
She plans to call on Congress to pass the first-ever federal ban on price gouging on food, invest in building resilient food supply chains, give small businesses, grocers, and growers the support they need, and revitalize a competitive marketplace to lower prices for consumers.
Moreover, Harris wants to lower healthcare costs, including insulin, and relieve medical debt for millions of Americans. Democrats through the Harris-Walz partnership want to crack down on counterfeit and unsafe goods from China, support American-made products by enforcing Buy America requirements, and incentivize domestic processing of critical minerals for manufacturing.
