With Israel’s war on Hezbollah in its third day in Lebanon, Prime Minister Najib Mikati urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to get its act together. He told the Council that at least 620 people have been killed since Monday.
The Lebanese PM called out Israel for violating Lebanon’s sovereignty. He said Israel’s aerial bombardment, attacks on mobile devices, and now threatening with a ground invasion have spread terror and fear in the country.
Mikati said the world is a witness to what has been happening. He urged the Council members to call for the cessation of Israeli aggression and to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and the safety of the Lebanese people.
Lebanon’s Health Minister Firass Abiad said 51 people were killed and over 200 injured in the ongoing attacks. He highlighted that attacks over the past 24 hours have been intense as Israeli warplanes attacked the southern areas.
Hell Breaking Loose in Lebanon – UN
The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that hell is breaking loose in Lebanon. He told members of the UNSC that exchanges of fire have expanded in scope, depth, and intensity along the UN-patrolled line of separation.

Guterres appealed to Israel and Hezbollah to respect Lebanese sovereignty and called on members to help strengthen the Lebanese Armed Forces. He said communities in Gaza and Lebanon must be able to return to their homes and live in safety and security, without fear.
Israel Continues Strikes In Lebanon
As leaders and diplomats continue with their meetings at the UN Security Council, Israel continues its onslaught in Gaza and Lebanon. The IDF confirmed its jets struck 75 Hezbollah targets, overnight, in Lebanon.
Israel is also preparing for a ground invasion of Lebanon, with Lt. Gen, Herzi Halevi saying they will continue to strike and hit Hezbollah everywhere. He claimed that Hezbollah has made Lebanese villages large military outposts complete with underground infrastructure, staging points, and launchpads to carry out attacks on Israel.
