With the annual 10-day Durga Puja celebrations coming up, the spotlight is on the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh warned against idol worship and immersion. There have been reports that Insaf Keemkari Chhatra-Janta, a radical group in Bangladesh, has cautioned against open celebrations of the festival.
But BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul believes there’s no serious problem going on. He said they are very much concerned about the wrong narrative that the Hindu community is facing are serious problem in Bangladesh. Fakhrul highlighted that some problems are political, but not religious or communal.
The BNP leader said they are very much alert to safeguard the minorities of Bangladesh, especially with the Durga Puja coming up.

Bangladesh Temples Communal Harmony
Mizanur Rahman, the Bangladeshi Superintendent of Police of Kushtia, said they have urged temple committees to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood. He said the government has given the police directives to ensure peaceful celebrations.
Durga Puja will be celebrated across all 230 temples in Kushtia. Jaydeb Biswas, General Secretary of Kushtia District Puja Celebration Committee, said the festive will begin on October 8 with Bodhon Puja, Maha Shashthi on October 9, Maha Saptami on October 10, Maha Ashtami on October 11, and Maha Navami on October 12. This will be followed by the immersion of the idols on October 13.
SP Rahman said they are putting in place comprehensive security measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras, adequate lighting, and duty shifts at the temples. He added that there will be tight security, including deployment of RAB, police, and Ansar forces, at every temple.
