External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar urged the global community at the 79th UN General Assembly to find urgent solutions to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. He said the world cannot be fatalistic about the continuation of violence on a large scale.
S Jaishankar highlighted that the world is yet to recover from the COVID pandemic. He said the war in Ukraine is in its third year, and the Gaza war is having wider ramifications. The Indian diplomat’s concerns come amid Israel starting a war in Lebanon against Hezbollah.
On Saturday, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. The civilian death toll, including women and children, is also rising in Lebanon with nearly 1,000 people killed.

Ukraine And Gaza Conflicts Must Be Resolved
S Jaishankar said the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza must be resolved. He warned that the world cannot be fatalistic about the continuation of violence on a large scale, no more than be impervious to its broader consequences.
India’s External Affairs Minister pointed out that the international community sought urgent solutions to the conflicts, and their sentiments must be acknowledged and acted upon. He also spotlighted the fact that the wars were escalating in a world that is fractious, polarized, and frustrated.
S Jaishankar said those who seek to lead the world must set the right example for global security and stability.
