Chandrababu Naidu Puts The Spotlight On Andhra Pradesh: Powerplay In Lok Sabha 2024. The Bharatiya Janata Party is all applause for its key ally in Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Naidu is basking in the glory after the TDP won 16 Lok Sabha seats out of 25 in the state.
Thanking the people of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said the TDP-JSP-BJP is a blessed alliance with an overwhelming mandate. He highlighted that they have reclaimed their state and will now rebuild it.
The TDP president attributed their victory to hard work and dedication of their leaders and karyakarthas. Naidu said they fought bravely against all odds until the last vote was cast.
Jagat Prakash Nadda, the national president of BJP, congratulated TDP and the people of Andhra Pradesh for reposing their faith in the National Democratic Alliance. He said the people of Andhra Pradesh have chosen to march forward under the NDA governance and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a brighter future.

Who is Nara Chandrababu Naidu?
Nara Chandrababu Naidu is a former chief minister (1995-2004; 2014-2019) of Andhra Pradesh; longest-served CM of the state. He is the national president of the Telugu Desam Party. Naidu comes from a very humble background, his father was a farmer and mother a housewife. He has a Masters Degree in Economics and also did a PhD in the same.
Naidu embarked on a political career in 1970s, starting off as a students’ union leader in Sri Venkateswara University. He joined the Youth Congress and was a close support of Sanjay Gandhi during the Emergency period in 1975. Naidu was later enticed by the regional TDP and swiftly rose through the party ranks, becoming a close aide of the party’s founder NT Rama Rao. In a party coup in 1995, Naidu ousted Rao and became the Chief Minister for the first time of Andhra Pradesh.
He brought about a technology revolution and infrastructure development to the state He served as chief minister from 1999 to 2005, and was elected again in 2014, wherein he brought about more development and innovation to the state. Naidu is renowned for bringing initiatives like ‘Smart Village, Smart Ward’ program to Andhra Pradesh.
However, he hit a political roadblock in 2019 when the TDP lost power to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP to Stick with NDA
Sources within the TDP say they are going to stay put with NDA as it’s a matter of credibility. TDP senior leader Kanakamedala Ravindrakumar said there is no question of supporting the INDIA bloc.
He highlighted that Chandrababu Naidu’s imprint on national coalitions is indelible. Ravindrakumar believes Naidu’s maneuvers will be guided by that state’s aspirations, wherein the NDA alignment is a way or route for Andhra Pradesh’s progress. Home Minister Amit Shah said the NDA is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.
