NEET UG 2024 Paper Leak: Supreme Court Issues Notice To Centre, NTA On CBI Probe. The Supreme Court of India on Friday issued notices to private parties on a plea of the NTA seeking the transfer of cases pending in various high courts on the NEET UG 2024 results row to the top court to avoid multiplicity of litigation.
The Apex court has also issued notices to the Centre and the NTA on a plea requesting a CBI probe into allegations of question paper leak, and other irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 exam. Challenging the conduct of the NEET-UG 2024 exam and posting it for hearing on July 8 along with the pending petitions.
A vacation bench of SC Justices Sandeep Mehta and Vikram Nath took note of the submission of the NTA’s lawyer that several pleas, seeking cancellation of the NEET UG 2024 exam on the allegations of question paper leak and other malpractices, are pending in several high courts.
On June 10 The Supreme Court sought a response from the National Testing Agency (NTA) over a petition seeking the cancellation of results of the NEET-UG 2024 amid allegations that the paper was leaked. The bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, told the NTA’s counsel that it’s sacrosanct.
It said the sanctity of the exam has been affected. Seeking answers, the bench asked the NTA to respond. A petition was filed by 10 individuals on June 1 before the declaration of the NEET-UG 2024 results. More petitioners followed suit, questioning the decision of the NTA about the grace marks scores of candidates, after the declaration of the results.

Appearing for the petitioners, Advocate Mathews J Nedumpara sought a stay of the counseling but the bench refused saying let it start.
ABVP and NSUI Hold Separate Protests, Call NTA Corrupt Over NEET
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) held separate protests around the Lucknow University Campus. They raised concerns about the anomalies in the NEET-UG 2024 results.
Adarsh Yadav, ABVP Mahanagar co-secretary, said the results have exposed the inefficiency and corruption of the NTA. ABVP workers have called for a CBI inquiry to look into the irregularities during the conduct of NEET-UG 2024. They claimed that there were irregularities in different parts of the countries, with imposters doing the exams instead of the candidate and breach in the distribution of question papers at various centers. Akash Singh, Metropolitan joint secretary, highlighted malpractice among the candidates.

Special Panel to Re-examine NEET Results
Meanwhile, the education ministry has set up a four-member panel to re-examine the NEET-UG 2024 results of over 1,500 students who were awarded grace marks. Subodh Singh, NTA Director General, said the special panel would submit a report within one week. He highlighted that the panel is supervised by a former UPSC chairman. The panel will put forth its recommendations, whereby the results of the candidates might be revised. Singh added that the grace marks have not impacted the qualifying criteria of the NEET.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) also voiced concerns about the entrance examination and requested a re-examination for a fair and transparent evaluation process. It also called for a CBI inquiry into the allegations. Furthermore, various political parties including AAP, and Congress have raised concerns.
A comprehensive investigation has been called by lawmakers in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Haryana, and Kerala as well.
