Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as Chief Minister of Haryana after the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP won 48 seats in the 90-member assembly. Saini won the Ladwa seat in the Kurukshetra district.
Nayab Singh Saini, who was elected as the BJP legislature party leader unanimously, staked claim to form the government in Haryana after his party won majority seats. BJP had said Saini would remain the CM if the party returned to power in Haryana after the Assembly election. Earlier this year in March, he had replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the CM of Haryana.
This is BJP’s third consecutive win in the Haryana Assembly election. The party has been ruling this crucial state since 2014.

Who is Nayab Singh Saini?
Nayab Singh Saini, 54, is a Dalit leader and was president of BJP Haryana. He comes from a Haryanvi Mali family and began his association with the BJP, and the RSS in 1996 as a low-profile leader from a backward class. Saini was the general secretary of the BJP’s Yuva Morcha in 2002. Three years later, he rose as the unit’s president.
Saini was a member of the Khattar cabinet, a minister of state from 2014 to 2019. He entered the Parliament as Kurukshetra MP in 2019. Saini was appointed as president of the Haryana BJP in October of 2023.
Since taking up the chief minister’s position in March, he won the hearts of the people of Haryana with the launch of two affordable housing schemes (Mukhyamantri Seheri Awas Yojana) for the urban and rural poor.
