Former Congress Loyalist Devendra Kothe Allegedly Finances BJP Surveys to Secure Solapur Central MLA Ticket. It has been reported from reliable sources that Mr. Devendra Kothe, who recently joined the BJP in May 2024 after leaving Congress, has allegedly financed the BJP party surveys with the aim of securing a ticket for the upcoming legislative elections in Maharashtra. Mr. Kothe is seeking a ticket to contest from the Solapur Central Constituency (249).
In an interesting twist, Mr. Devendra Kothe comes from a family with deep-rooted ties to Congress. His father, Mr. Vishnupant Kothe, served as a Personal Assistant to senior Congress leader Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde for nearly fifty years.

Moreover, Mr. Mahesh Kothe, Devendra’s brother, contested two elections under the BJP-Saffron Alliance banner against Mr. Shinde’s daughter, Praniti Shinde, in Solapur City Central but lost both in 2014 and 2019. Recently, Mahesh Kothe switched allegiance to the NCP and now plans to contest from the adjacent Solapur City North constituency.
What makes this situation even more surprising is that while Mr. Mahesh Kothe is now with the NCP, his brother, Mr. Devendra Kothe, a former Congressman, is aspiring to contest from BJP in Solapur Central (249).

The fact that Mr. Devendra Kothe is reportedly managing the BJP party survey financially to secure a ticket raises concerns about the integrity of the process within the party ahead of the legislative assembly elections.
It now clearly indicates that BJP always loses a seat since the Kothe family makes an adjustment and is in favour of Congress Party. So BJP has never won a seat in Solapur Central Constituency.
