Former US President Donald Trump has time and again lashed out at people of color and various racial groups, and non-Christians too. During the recent debate with Kamala Harris, he alleged that Haitian immigrants in the American state of Ohio are abducting and eating cats and dogs. And in 2021, he called the coronavirus the ‘Chinese Virus’.

When criticized for his racist and anti-Chinese comment, Trump said it’s not racist, adding that he calls it such because it comes from China. But his comments had repercussions. There were racist attacks on the Chinese and people of Asian origin in the US, and growing xenophobia.

A few weeks ago, Trump questioned US Vice President Kamala Harris’ background, asking whether she was Indian or Black (of African descent). In April 2024, in a TIME interview, the former president claimed there is a ‘definite anti-white feeling’ in the US. He added that there’s a bias against white people which is a big problem.

Donald Trump Has a Problem With Color

Reports show that the billionaire-turned-politician has had issues with people of color, be it African Americans, Mexicans, Hispanics, Muslims, Immigrants, Women, and the Indigenous. This is reflected in his actions, statements, and political campaigns.

A former employee of Trump’s Castle in Atlantic City said when Trump and his ex-wife Ivana came to the casino, their bosses would order all the Black people off the floor.

He used former president Barack Obama’s middle name Hussein during his various political campaigns. He retired United States Ambassador to the United States Nikki Haley’s given name Nimarata Nikki Randhawa displaying faux outrage racism.

In 2020, when he lost the re-election to the Democrats, Trump alleged that Harris did not meet US citizenship requirements.

He has used disinformation for smear campaigns and brought about chaos, like what’s happening in Ohio – schools are shut down because of bomb threats and baseless claims of immigrants eating cats and dogs.
