Legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty will be bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award on October 8 at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony. The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Railways and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury decided to award the Disco Dancer (1982) actor-cum-politician.
Mithun Chakraborty, also known as Mithun Da, is an iconic Indian actor and producer. He continues to feature in movies, playing character roles in acclaimed films The Kashmir Files (2022), Kabuliwala (2023) 12’O Clock (2021), etc. The Bengali actor is celebrated for his versatile roles and distinctive dancing style.
