BREAKING: Israel Strikes Tehran, Iran Successfully Intercepts Missiles, Vows Retaliation

Israel has conducted a strike on Tehran weeks after Iran launched 200 ballistic missiles on Israeli military bases on October 1. IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed the strike, dubbed ‘Days of Repentance’, on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter).

He defended Israel’s action saying the regime in Iran and its proxies in the region have relentlessly attacking Israel since October 7, 2023. Hagari said Israel has the right and duty to respond. He highlighted that their defensive and offensive capabilities are fully mobilized.

David Barnea, head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is conducting an assessment of the security situation at the air force Base in the Kirya with the defense minister.

Israel Operation ‘Days of Repentance’

Israeli military said they used fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes in the strike called ‘Days of Repentance’, a complex operation conducted 1,600 kilometers away in Iran. It highlighted that the strikes were conducted over the course of several hours in various areas of Iran in the wee hours of early morning.

The IDF targeted Iranian military sites, including air defense batteries and ballistic missile manufacturing sites. Moreover, it claimed that the Israel Air Forces had wider freedom of aerial action in Iran. Israel believes it has a wide bank of targets to hit in Iran in the future if the need arises.

Explosions were heard in Tehran, but there have been no reports of the extent of damage or loss of life. Sources said no IRGC military centers were targeted. The blasts heard were engagement of Iranian Army air defenses intercepting Israeli rockets.
