The FBI has confirmed another attempted assassination attempt of former US President Donald Trump, this time in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suspect, now in custody, fired shots on Sunday afternoon at Trump’s golf course. The Republican was rushed to safety.

The Secret Service fired at the gunman in the bushes near the property line, just a few yards away from where Trump was playing. The suspect fled the scene, leaving behind an AK-47-style assault rifle.

This incident comes just two months after Trump was shot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He sustained a minor injury to his right ear where the bullet grazed.

The suspect identified as Ryan Wesley Routh fled the scene but was detained on the highway. Investigators scanned the scene where the gunman had attempted to shoot at Trump and found a GoPro camera and backpacks.

Donald Trump’s Shooter Owns a Small Construction Company

Routh, 58, owns a small construction company Camp Box Honolulu in Hawaii -. According to CNN, the suspect is a disgruntled critic of the former president. Following the July assassination attempt, Routh in a social media post urged President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to visit the wounded at the rally. He said Trump will never do anything.

The suspect doesn’t have a clean record. He was arrested in 2002 when the law enforcement pulled him over. Rout had allegedly put his hand on a firearm and barricaded himself in a business. He has had several lawsuits.

Rout is pro-Ukraine and one of his social media posts of X says he was willing to die in the fight and the Kremlin needs to be burnt to the ground. The suspect even tried to enlist Afghan conscripts to fight in the war. He described himself as an off-the-books liaison for the Ukrainian government.

Donald Trump Thanks the Secret Service

Trump expressed gratitude to the Secret Service and other law enforcement officials after the second assassination attempt. In a post on Truth Social, he highlighted US Secret Service Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and his Office of Brave and dedicated patriots for the incredibly well-done job.

The former US president was out golfing with Steve Witkoff, a donor when shots were fired. They escaped unhurt.
