BREAKING: Ukraine Targets Moscow With Largest Drone Attack In Three Years of War With Russia

Date:

One person was killed and several injured in Ukraine’s overnight drone attack on Moscow, with Russian air defenses intercepting 337 UAVs Tuesday morning. This is said to be the largest drone attack by Ukraine in three years of war. Casualties and damages have been recorded in the towns of Vidnoye and Domodedovo, including seven apartments.

The Russian military said their air defenses shot down at least 91 drones over the Moscow region, and 337 Ukrainian drones were shot down over 10 Russian regions, with the majority over Kursk. Andrey Vorobyov, Moscow Region Governor, said a 38-year-old night guard was killed and two workers injured when a drone crashed into the parking lot of a food plant; 20 vehicles were damaged.

The attack prompted Moscow to close down temporary airports in Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky, and some flights were redirected to Samara. There were disruptions to rail services as drone debris damaged infrastructure at Domodedovo station.

Peace Talks for Ukraine-Russia War in Saudi Arabia

Ukraine’s massive drone attack took place amid talks in Saudi Arabia between Ukrainian and American delegations about a possible peace deal with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about steps and conditions that could end the war and bring about peace.

He emphasized the release of prisoners and returning deported children. Zelensky believes this is one of the key measures to establish trust in diplomatic efforts. He said Ukraine hopes for practical results and their position is absolutely constructive.

Western media reports say Ukraine will use the March 11 talks to persuade the U.S. Trump administration to resume military aid and intelligence-sharing by proposing a limited ceasefire with Russia. Zelensky is also willing to negotiate an end to the ongoing war with Russia.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington wanted to hear what concessions Ukraine would be willing to make in negotiations to end the war with Russia. He pointed out that the talks could determine whether the U.S. resumes providing military aid and full intelligence sharing with Kyiv.
