China is determined more than ever to reunify with Taiwan for the country to progress and move forward as a whole. President Xi Jinping, during a speech to mark China’s 75th birthday, reiterated Beijing’s firm opposition to Tawain’s separatist activities and stressed the need to unify under the Chinese Communist Party’s leadership.
He said it’s an irreversible trend, a cause of righteousness, and the common aspiration of the people. “No one can stop the march of history.” Xi, at a banquet attended by over 3,000 people, described Taiwan as China’s sacred territory. “Blood is thicker than water, and people on both sides of the strait are connected by blood.”
China wants deeper economic and cultural exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, as well as spiritual harmony of compatriots on both sides. The Chinese president said complete reunification is the common aspiration of all Chinese from home and abroad.
“It is an irresistible trend and a righteous cause reflecting the will of the people,” Xi said. “No one can stop the wheel of history.”

China Urges US to Stop Arming Taiwan
The United States has been boosting Taiwan’s military capabilities despite China’s sanctions on American defense firms over arms sales to Taipei. Beijing called on Washington to immediately cease arming Taiwan and reaffirmed its commitment to defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Lin Jian, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, said the US has once again provided weaponry, worth $567 million, to Taiwan. He highlighted that this violates the one-China principle and the three-China-US joint communiqués, particularly the August 17 Communique in 1982.
Lin said the US’s stand proves that the greatest threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the greatest disruption to the current situation in the Taiwan Strait are the separatist activities of the ‘Taiwan independence’ forces. The separatists have been receiving aid and weapons from external forces – United States.
