Deadly explosions have rocked Lebanon for a second consecutive day killing at least 20 people and injuring hundreds. This is Israel’s ‘new phase of war’ aimed at Hezbollah. Israel targeted pagers and walkie-talkies in cities across the Middle Eastern country. Israel’s attack comes amid escalating tensions with Hezbollah fighters.
Israel Lays Siege On Lebanon
Lebanese authorities said at least 12 civilians were killed on Tuesday 2,800 injured in the explosions, and 460 sustained serious injuries requiring surgery. Firass Abiad, the Lebanese Health Minister, said most victims sustained eye and facial injuries while others had injuries to their fingers and hands.
US officials blamed Israel for the deadly explosions across Lebanon, saying there were up to 2 ounces of explosives in each of the pagers that exploded. Hezbollah confirmed that 11 of its members were killed in the explosions. However, it should be noted that Israel has publicly not taken responsibility for the explosions in Lebanon.

Israel Launches New Phase of War in Northern Border
The second day of explosions across Lebanon means that Israel has launched a full-on war against Hezbollah. The IDF said it was redeploying its 98th Division to northern Israel. Israel Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said they are delivering forces, resources, and energy toward the north.
He told Israeli Air Force personnel at the Ramat David airbase that the country is at the onset of a new phase in the war, whereby the armed forces need to adapt quickly. He urged the personnel for consistency as the war requires great courage, determination, and perseverance.
Gallant added that the IDF has not forgotten the Israeli hostages held captive by the Hamas. He said they have not forgotten their task in the south.
