Joe Biden Drops Out, Endorses Kamala Harris As Democrat Nominee: US Presidential Election 2024. In yet another eventful weekend, President Joe Biden has finally bitten the bullet, putting the United States of America and its people first, exiting the 2024 US presidential race. This comes weeks after his dismal performance in the debate against former president Donald Trump ignited alarm bells about his mental and physical health and capacity.

In recent weeks, Democrat lawmakers, and American citizens intensified calls for Biden to step down. The US president announced his exit Sunday evening, saying he believes it’s in the best interest of the Democrat party and the United States for him to step down and focus on finishing the remainder of his term.

Biden, 81, highlighted that together they overcame a once in a century pandemic COVID-19, and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. He said they protected and preserved America’s democracy, revitalized and strengthened the country’s alliances around the world.

Joe Biden Puts Forth Kamala Harris

Biden declared his support and endorsement for Kamala Harris for president. He highlighted that his first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Harris as Vice President. Biden believes it’s the best decision he made.

But Harris has yet to win the nomination. And this will be confirmed at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, which kicks off on August 17. Sources say a candidate has to secure around 1,986 delegates. For the 2020 presidential election, Biden had secured 3,800.

With Biden out of the race, the Democrat campaign has been redesigned with the header “I am endorsing Kamala Harris to be our next President of the United States” and “Harris for President”.
