Kamala Harris suffered a surprising defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election by a margin 223 to 279, electoral votes. The Democrats won 190 electoral votes, while the Republicans rose with the majority 204 electoral votes to secure the House, and 52 for the Senate.
Trump’s victory shattered Kamala Harris’ dream for the Democrats to rein the United States with its first-ever woman president. The Biden administration had labelled Donald Trump an insurrectionist, impeached him for the January 6, 2021 riots, and thrown sexual assault cases on him. However, it failed to extinguish his political ambition to win the 2024 US Election.

Kamala Harris, 60, failed to sway voters with her campaign promises to take on pharmaceutical companies, restore the federal right to abortion, eliminate price gouging on groceries, expand the child tax credit, and appoint a Republican to her Cabinet. Her 15-week campaign failed to resonate with voters. The Democrats are struggling to come to terms with the landslide defeat to Republican Donald Trump.
Despite the loss, Democrat supporters are hoping to find closure in Kamala Harris’ election night appearance at Howard University in Washington DC. But there’s nothing from the Harris-Walz team. Cedrick Richmond, one of Harris’ campaign co-chairs, assured supporters that there are votes still to be counted and states that have not been called yet. He said they will continue overnight to make sure that every vote is counted, and every voice spoken.
Richmond told supporters that there would be nothing from Vice President Kamala Harris tonight, but she will address the nation tomorrow.
