Who Is JD Vance? Donald Trump Announces Vice President Running Mate: US Presidential Election 2024

Date:

Former US President Donald Trump has announced JD Vance, a senator from Ohio, as his running mate in the upcoming presidential election. This comes just two days after an assassination attempt against him at a rally in Pennsylvania during the weekend.

Trump highlighted in his Truth Social post that the decision was made after lengthy deliberation. He said the best person suited for the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance of the State of Ohio. Trump, 78, lauded Vance’s education credentials and business experience. The Republicans officially nominated Trump and Vance at the start of the Republican Party’s four-day national convention in Milwaukee.

Mike DeWine, Ohio Governor, said Vance is consistent with Trump’s appeal to working men and women. He believes it was quite wise of the former president to pick someone younger as the vice-president candidate. The lawmaker pointed out that Vance also shares Trump’s desire to expand the base of the Republican party.
