Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, also the AAP leader, is set to hand over his resignation from the top position to Lieutenant-Governor (LG) VK Saxena tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. This comes just three days after he was granted bail last week in connection to a corruption and money laundering case.

Kejriwal said he will not sit in the CM’s seat till the people announce their verdict. His decision comes somewhat as a surprise because he spent five months in jail and didn’t step down from being the chief minister then. And now when he has received bail, he is ready to give up the top position.

The AAP boss reasoned that he got justice from the legal court and now he awaits the same from the people’s court. He reiterated that he would only sit in the CM’s chair after the order of the people. As such, the Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leaders are in discussions about who could fill the Chief Minister’s position. Some likely names that have come up are Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal, Atishi, and Gopal Rai.

Is Arvind Kejriwal Pulling a Political Gimmick

The AAP is once again in the spotlight thanks to its boss Arvind Kejriwal. His announcement to step down from the chief minister’s position is being scrutinized. Kejriwal said the BJP has portrayed him as a corrupt politician and a thief.

He highlighted that he doesn’t want to play the game of money from power and power from money. The Delhi chief minister said he joined politics to do something for the country.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, the AAP politician, said a false campaign was run against their CM Arvind Kejriwal for two years and he was kept in jail. He asserted that there is a lot of resentment among the people towards the BJP because they believe that the central government conspired to put their leader in jail. Bhardwaj believes that in the fresh elections, the people of Delhi will not give a single vote to the BJP.
