Mukesh Ambani Ranks 14th On ‘Bloomberg Billionaires Index’, Gautam Adani 17th

Two Indian billionaires, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, have made it on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index which features the world’s 500 richest people. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index provides a daily ranking of the world’s richest people.

It has Elon Musk at No.1, followed by Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg at second, and Amazon boss Jeff Bezos at third. Those in the top 10 are majority tech entrepreneurs. It should be noted that it has become diverse from No. 10 – 20 with billionaires having retail, industrial, and energy businesses, etc.

Mukesh Ambani Wealth Comes From Reliance Industries

Mukesh Ambani, with a net worth of $107B, is placed 14th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index after the NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. He controls Reliance Industries and has businesses dealing with polymer and chemical. Ambani, 67, also owns the IPL cricket team Mumbai Indians which has players like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the majority of Ambani’s wealth derives from a 42 percent stake in publicly traded Reliance Industries, which has the largest oil refining complex in the world. The Indian billionaire’s Mumbai mansion Antilia is worth over $400 million.

Gautam Adani is the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, which is among the top three industrial conglomerates in India. His businesses focus on building world-class infrastructure capabilities to accelerate the growth of India. Adani, 62, began the Adani Group in 1988 as a commodities trading firm and expanded it through various acquisitions.

The Adani Group has a joint venture with the Wilmar Group. He runs Ambuja Cements, Adani Total Gas, Adani Power, Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises, and ACC, among others.
