Over 80,000 users in the US experienced Netflix outage just before the much anticipated boxing match between the legendary boxer Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. Users in American metropolitan areas, including New York, Seattle and Los Angeles were primarily recorded Netflix crash.

The OTT giant has faced similar outages in the past during live and highly anticipated events because of sudden spike in user traffic. The latest outage saw #NetflixCrash trending on X (formerly Twitter) in no time. Frustrated users came up with memes to describe their ordeal.
One user vented their annoyance saying they will cancel their Netflix membership – it’s an absolute disgrace. Dave Portnoy, founder of the Barstool Sports media network, described the outage as a classic torture chamber. He added that he can’t tell if his internet keeps going out or whether Netflix is just constantly buffering and unwatchable for everybody.

A user suggested disconnecting from Netflix, waiting for 30 seconds and reconnecting. Another user complained saying they waited for two hours to chat with customer support and when they did connect, they said they may as well cancel their subscription, but then lost connection again.
A boxing fan said his Netflix just froze at the end of round 9 of the Taylor vs. Serrano fight, and another ranted that this is the reason why the streaming giant can’t compete with major networks.
