Having won only 37 seats despite exit polls predicting a win, the Congress has highlighted concerns about the party’s performance in Haryana. The BJP won by a big margin of 48 seats in the 90-member Assembly.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the party was looking into the unexpected results in Haryana. He highlighted that they would be informing the Election Commission about the complaints they received from various assembly constituencies.
The BJP took a jibe at Congress with the newly elected MLA Anil Vij from Haryana’s Ambala Cantt saying that whenever the results don’t come in the opposition party’s favor, it blames the EVM. He said everyone was talking about anti-incumbency but no one knew about pro-incumbency. “Our government worked a lot, we changed the system and removed corruption,”.
The MLA highlighted that the BJP stopped the loot that was being done over the years even when all the statistics were against the party. The Bharatiya Janata Party managed to regain power in Haryana for the third consecutive time.

Congress Should Introspect
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the result of Haryana is unexpected. “The party is assessing the public opinion,”. Kharge added that a detailed response will come after the party heads have talked to their ground workers and gotten complete information and facts checked.
About the win for the INDIA bloc in J&K, Gandhi thanked the people of the region for helping the NC-Congress secure 49 of the 90 assembly seats. He said this was a victory of the Constitution and a victory of democratic self-respect.
National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah called on the Congress to introspect deeply and find the real reasons for its defeat in Haryana. He said the party is only wasting its time with the exit polls. “But no one would have thought that the exit polls would be so wrong,”. He added that his job is to run NC and help the alliance in J&K.
