Top 5 Most Followed Indian Singers On Spotify. Spotify, the global music streaming and podcast giant, celebrated its 5th anniversary in February 2024 in India. The platform boasts more than 28,000 artists in India alone. Spotify recorded a growth of 85 percent year-over-year in global consumption of music from India in 2023.

The digital music service provider has given local Indian artists a global stage where they can share their music in whatever language they like from Tamil, Hindi, Telugu to Punjabi. Spotify is most loved by the GenZ and millennials.

Spotify’s former Head of Music Culture and Editorial India Sneha Singh highlighted India’s love for local and global artists. India is home to Bollywood artists, raga virtuosos, indie talent, and world-class singers. It has a rich culture.

Arijit Singh Followers: 119.15 million

He is a popular playback singer and music composer. Arijit Singh rose to fame with the song Tum Hi Ho for Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur’s Aashiqui 2. He was in the top 10 of Planet Bollywood for eight weeks for that song. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for this song.

Some of his popular songs include Sajni (from Laapataa Ladies), Chaleya, Satranga (from Animal) and O Maahi. Arijit Singh recently surpassed Taylor Swift becoming the most-followed artist on Spotify.

Badshah Followers: 26.9 million

Badshah is an Indian rapper. He is known to fuse indie hip-hop and commercial music into mainstream and impeccable style. Badshah, born as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia) sings Hindi, English, Punjabi and Haryanvi songs. He has also sung for Bollywood movies including Good Newwz, Veera Di Wedding, Namaste England, and Bala, among others.

She is regarded as India’s nightingale. Shreya Ghosal’s melodious songs have pierced hearts across the world. She has won numerous awards – National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, and regional awards including Kerala State Film Awards.
