Maharashtra MLAs Sworn In
Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Mahayuti alliance’s seven nominees have been sworn in as MLAs from the Governor’s quota. It includes three representatives from the BJP and two each from the Shiv Sena factions led by Eknath Shinde and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction.
The go-ahead was given by Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan late on Monday. This comes amid a political storm brewing in the state as the Maha Vikas Aghadi government wanted the nominees’ names to be canceled.
It should be noted that Maharashtra has yet to fill 12 seats in the upper house. This hasn’t been filled because of disagreement between the ruling allies.
